Nabire – Ahead of the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year celebrations, Mamberamo youth leader Simeon Yadeu called on all residents of Waroki Village to maintain security and public order in the area. This appeal was conveyed as a form of concern for the local situation and support for ongoing government programs.
In his statement, Simeon emphasized that the Christmas and New Year holidays are moments that require a peaceful, safe, and harmonious atmosphere. Therefore, he encouraged the community to actively participate in maintaining stability in their respective environments.
“As we approach Christmas and New Year, I urge all Waroki residents to prioritize security, order, and uphold the spirit of brotherhood among the community. A conducive situation is our shared responsibility,” he said.
Simeon also highlighted the importance of avoiding behaviors that may trigger social disturbances, including the consumption of alcoholic beverages and other negative activities. He encouraged the community to strengthen tolerance, respect religious observances, and maintain public peace throughout the celebrations.
Furthermore, he expressed his support for government programs across various sectors, particularly regional development, enhancement of public services, and the government’s efforts to maintain security and well-being in Mamberamo.
“We encourage the community to support government programs, as the success of development depends on collaboration between the government and the people,” he added.
Simeon also urged residents to increase vigilance in their neighborhoods and immediately report any potential disturbances to village authorities or related officials.
