Jayapura — The Jayapura City Government, through the Department of Manpower and Transmigration (Disnakertrans) in collaboration with the Jayapura City PKK Mobilization Team, has organized a skills enhancement program aimed at preparing local youth to enter the job market.
The training, which brought together participants from several districts across Jayapura, was designed to equip young people with practical abilities, labor market insights, and an understanding of current industry demands. The multi-day program also featured experienced instructors from various professional fields.
The Head of Disnakertrans Jayapura stated that this initiative is part of the city’s broader strategy to create productive young workers capable of competing in both the formal and informal sectors. He emphasized that strengthening human resources is a crucial step in reducing unemployment rates in the region.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Jayapura City PKK highlighted the importance of continuous mentoring for young people so they can make the most of emerging employment opportunities.
