Jayapura — The Papua Provincial Government emphasized that the Inter-Regional Cooperation (KAD) scheme has become a strategic avenue for local business actors to broaden their markets, strengthen product distribution, and support regional economic development.
Papua Deputy Governor Aryoko Rumaropen, in Jayapura on Thursday, said the local government fully supports the implementation of KAD as it creates long-term business opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
During the event, Aryoko also oversaw the dispatch of 24 tons of rice from Jayapura to Wamena, marking a concrete step in executing the cooperation.
“Seperti saat ini dimana kami telah melakukan pelepasan 24 ton beras dari Jayapura menuju Wamena,” he said after flagging off the rice-transporting trucks at the Papua Governor’s Office yard.
He further encouraged all OPD leaders and relevant agencies to take part in strengthening inter-regional cooperation.
Meanwhile, Head of Bank Indonesia Papua Representative Office, Faturachman, explained that the 24 tons of rice will be delivered in two stages, in November and early December, as a solution to supply needs in other areas.
He also expressed hope that the ongoing KAD initiative will help curb rice inflation in Wamena so that Papua Pegunungan’s inflation rate can reach the national target by year-end.
Earlier, Bank Indonesia Papua held the National Movement for Food Inflation Control (GNPIP), featuring a series of activities such as a millennial farmer talk show, affordable market operations, halal certification handovers, and distribution of assistance to Jayapura City/Regency and Keerom.
The event was concluded with the ceremonial release of KAD shipments at the Papua Governor’s Office yard on Thursday (13/11).
