Jayapura — The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) of the Republic of Indonesia, General (Ret.) Djamari Chaniago, conducted a working visit to the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) in Jayapura City on Wednesday (November 5, 2025).
During the visit, the Minister was accompanied by the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), General (Ret.) Muhammad Herindra, Governor of Papua Irjen Pol (Ret.) Mathius D. Fakhiri, as well as representatives from the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), Ondoafi (traditional leaders), tribal chiefs, PYCH youth members, DPD Barisan Merah Putih, and students from SD Negeri 1 Abepura.
This activity was part of the central government’s working agenda in Papua, aimed at strengthening relations between the government and local communities while supporting the development of creativity among the young generation in the Land of Papua. On this occasion, the Minister also handed out gifts of appreciation to community leaders, youth organizations, and students as a symbol of the government’s care and support.
In his remarks, Minister Chaniago expressed his pride in the creativity and innovations produced by Papua’s young people through the PYCH platform.
“I came here to directly witness the great potential of Papua’s youth. Many outstanding creative works have emerged from this place. The government remains committed to supporting every effort toward improving people’s welfare,” said the Coordinating Minister.
He also called on all components of society in Papua to continue strengthening unity and collaboration in maintaining peace and promoting regional progress.
“Let us work together to realize a peaceful, prosperous, and advanced Papua. Papua rises, Papua shines,” he added.
After visiting PYCH, the Minister continued his working agenda with a visit to the Papua Regional Police Headquarters (Mapolda Papua), where he met with Papua Police Chief Irjen Pol Patrige R. Renwarin and senior police officials. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in maintaining security, social stability, and accelerating development across Papua.
The visit served as an important moment to reinforce coordination between the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, BIN, and the Papua Regional Police, particularly in responding to the dynamics of public security and order in the region.
In his remarks, Papua Police Chief Irjen Pol Patrige R. Renwarin welcomed the Minister and the Head of BIN, emphasizing the importance of inter-agency synergy to ensure safety and welfare in Papua.
“This visit is very meaningful for us. Through this meeting, we can strengthen coordination and discuss various public security issues to ensure that peace and prosperity in Papua are maintained,” said the Papua Police Chief.
During his briefing at the Papua Regional Police Headquarters, Minister Chaniago highlighted the importance of communication, collaboration, and synergy between security forces and all stakeholders in Papua.
“We share a common mission — to maintain security and build people’s welfare. Let us strengthen our coordination so that every policy and action taken can bring tangible benefits to the people of Papua,” he emphasized.
