Jayapura – Personnel of the Cartenz Peace Operation Investigation Subsagas carried out the activity of handing over suspects and evidence (Stage II) against one suspect on behalf of Yopi Balingga at the Jayapura District Attorney’s Office, Friday (10/24/2025). This activity is led by IPTU Kamaruddin, S.H., together with Bripka Jefri J. personnel. Thomas and Briptu Arthur D. Sanadi.
The implementation of the activity started at 09.00 WIT with initial preparation at Dit Tahti Regional Police Papua. Then at 09.30 WIT, the prisoner issue was carried out on the suspect Yopi Balingga, who was then taken to the Jayapura District Attorney’s Office. Around 10.51 WIT, the team carried out the process of handing over the suspect along with the evidence in the form of 16 pieces of ammunition to the Public Prosecutor (JPU).
Suspect Yopi Balingga was previously arrested by Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz personnel at the end of August 2025 in the Lanny Jaya Regency area. The person concerned is suspected to be involved in a network of Armed Criminal Groups which often carry out illegal ammunition distribution activities in the central mountainous region of Papua.
From the results of the investigation, the suspect is known to have a role as a courier and ammunition storage, which is planned to be sent to one of the KKB groups in the Nduga Regency area.
Evidence in the form of 16 pieces of ammunition was found during the arrest and has been secured as part of the legal process.
Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., expressed his appreciation for the performance of the team that has completed the legal process until stage II well.
“Law enforcement measures carried out professionally and transparently are a real proof of the state’s presence in upholding justice and maintaining security stability in Papua,” he said.
Deputy Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., also emphasized the importance of synergy between the police and the prosecutor’s office in every stage of law enforcement.
“The legal process that runs in an orderly manner and according to procedures is a reflection that the apparatus works based on the principles of law and humanity,” he said.
The implementation of the handover of suspects and evidence was safe, orderly, and smooth until the activity was completed.
This activity is part of the commitment of the Cartenz Peace Operation in supporting professional, humanistic, and fair law enforcement in the Papua region.
