Yahukimo, Papua Mountains – A civilian named Anhy Armyanti (40 years old) died as a result of being assaulted by unidentified perpetrators in Jalan Sosial, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, on Saturday night (October 18, 2025) around 7:55 PM WIT.
This tragic incident was first reported through radio communication (HT) by the Yahukimo Police, who received information about an stabbing and severe assault against a resident at the scene. Immediately, the joint team from Satgas Operasi Damai Cartenz along with Yahukimo Police personnel responded swiftly and headed to the location.
The victim, who resides in Yakini Complex, Jalan Sosial, was evacuated to RSUD Dekai for medical treatment and a forensic examination. Unfortunately, Anhy’s life could not be saved, and she was pronounced dead due to serious injuries sustained from the assault.
The Head of Ops Damai Cartenz, Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., expressed deep condolences over this incident and emphasized that authorities will thoroughly investigate this humanitarian crime.
“We extend our condolences for the passing of Mrs. Anhy Armyanti. This heinous act will not be tolerated. We have deployed a team to investigate and arrest the perpetrators as soon as possible,” Brig. Gen. Faizal stated.
Additionally, the Deputy Head of Ops Damai Cartenz, Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., stressed that security forces will continue to tighten security in Yahukimo to maintain a stable public order situation.
“We are committed to protecting the community from armed violence. Patrols and security measures will be intensified, and law enforcement will be carried out proportionally. We want the community to feel safe and protected,” said Kombes Adarma.
Satgas Ops Damai Cartenz urges the community to stay calm, avoid provocation, and report suspicious activity to security authorities. Together with Yahukimo Police, the task force is dedicated to maintaining stability and creating a safe and peaceful atmosphere in Papua.
