Peace Operation Task Force Cartenz and Yahukimo Police Evacuate Victim of Assault in Yahukimo, Suspected to be Caused by KKB Sympathizers

Yahukimo, Highland Papua – A civilian named Anhy Armyanti (40) died after being assaulted by unknown individuals (OTK) on Social Street, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, on Saturday night (October 18, 2025) around 7:55 PM WIT.

The incident was first reported through radio communications (HT) from the Yahukimo Police, who received information about a stabbing and severe assault on a civilian in the area. The joint team from the Peace Operation Task Force Cartenz and Yahukimo Police promptly responded and quickly moved to the scene.

The victim, who resides at Yakini Complex, Social Street, was immediately evacuated to Dekai Regional Hospital (RSUD) for medical treatment and a medical examination. However, the victim could not be saved and was pronounced dead due to severe injuries inflicted during the assault.

The Head of Peace Operation Cartenz, Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., expressed deep condolences for the incident and emphasized that authorities would thoroughly investigate this act of human rights violation.

“We mourn the loss of Mrs. Anhy Armyanti. Such heinous acts cannot be tolerated. We have deployed a team to investigate and ensure the perpetrators are quickly apprehended,” Brigadier General Faizal stated.

He added that the temporary motive for the stabbing action is strongly suspected to be related to efforts by armed criminal groups (KKB) or their sympathizers who aim to incite unrest in the Yahukimo region.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz, Commissioner of Police (Kombes Pol.) Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that security forces will continue to tighten security in Yahukimo to maintain a conducive security situation.

“We will not allow acts of armed violence against civilians. Authorities will increase patrols, security, and law enforcement measures in a measured manner. We want the community to feel safe and protected,” said Kombes Pol. Adarma.

The Peace Operation Task Force Cartenz, together with Yahukimo Police, urges the community to remain calm, not be provoked, and to report any suspicious activity in their surroundings to security authorities. The Peace Operation Task Force Cartenz and Yahukimo Police are fully committed to maintaining security stability to create peace and a sense of safety for all residents of Papua.
