Mappi, South Papua — Minister of Law, Supratman Andi Agtas, kept his promise to provide shoes and school bags to the students of Inpres Isyaman Elementary School, Mappi Regency, South Papua. The assistance was handed over symbolically on Thursday (10/16/2025) by the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law of Papua Province, Anthonius Mathius Ayorbaba, representing the Minister of Law.
The handover of this aid is a follow-up of Minister Supratman’s commitment which was delivered through a letter on September 6, 2025, after the circulation of a video of the students of Inpres Isyaman Elementary School carrying out the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia ceremony barefoot, and received wide attention on social media.
In the handover of the aid, the Head of the Papua Ministry of Finance, Anthonius Mathius Ayorbaba, said that the Menkum’s move was a real manifestation of the government’s attention to the education and welfare of children in remote areas of Papua.
“On behalf of the Minister of Law, we express our gratitude and appreciation to the teachers who have dedicatedly served at Inpres Isyaman Elementary School. This assistance is a form of love and care so that Papuan children can go to school with enthusiasm and pride,” said Anthonius.
He also added that the delivery of the aid is in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s message to mold a generation of patriots, the nation’s successors towards a Golden Indonesia 2045, where education is the main foundation for the development of the character and future of Indonesian children.
“The Minister emphasized that every Indonesian child, without exception, has the right to receive support to grow up to be a smart, brave, and characterful generation. This shoe and bag assistance is just a small step to support that great spirit,” he continued.
The aid delivery activity was simple but full of emotion. The students seemed enthusiastic to receive their new shoes and bags, while the teachers expressed their gratitude for the central government’s attention to the education conditions in their area.
Through this activity, the Ministry of Law hopes that the learning spirit of the children of Inpres Isyaman Elementary School will increase, and become an inspiration for institutions and the wider community to support the equal distribution of education in all corners of the country, especially in the South Papua region.
