MAPPI – The Minister of Law of the Republic of Indonesia, Supratman Andi Agtas, extended his appreciation to the students and teachers of SD Inpres Isyaman in Mappi Regency, South Papua, by donating school shoes and bags on Thursday (October 16, 2025).
The distribution of assistance from the Minister was in line with the message from President Prabowo Subianto to nurture the nation’s future patriots in pursuit of Indonesia Emas 2045.
Through a letter dated September 6, the Minister had promised to provide shoes to the children of SD Inpres Isyaman, Mappi, who went viral on social media after holding the 80th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony barefoot. The promise was fulfilled last Thursday, represented by the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kakanwil Kemenkum) for Papua Province, Anthonius Mathius Ayorbaba.
“I want to express my pride. Even though you live in the easternmost part of Indonesia, you are sons and daughters of this nation — the future leaders of our country. I am deeply touched to see your love and pride for Indonesia,” wrote Minister Supratman in his letter.
The Minister added that the students of SD Inpres Isyaman had rekindled the spirit of struggle that forms the very soul of Indonesia’s unity.
“My dear children, study diligently and dream as high as you can. Strive for a bright future and never grow tired of loving Indonesia,” he encouraged.
Representing the Minister during the handover, Anthonius Mathius Ayorbaba expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the school staff for their dedication in serving at SD Inpres Isyaman.
“May the assistance provided by the Minister of Law be put to good use by the children at SD Isyaman. One day, these children will become part of Indonesia’s golden generation, thanks to the great teachers who faithfully dedicate their service here,” said Anthonius.
He added that the donation of shoes and bags to students and teachers was hoped to inspire children in remote Papua to attend school with renewed enthusiasm, contributing to the realization of Indonesia Emas 2045.
At the same occasion, Maria Goreti Letsoin, Head of the Mappi Regency Education Office, conveyed her gratitude to the Minister of Law for his attention to education in the region.
“This marks a historic moment — the first time a Minister has shown such care for education by directly providing assistance to the children of Isyaman Village,” said Maria.
