In a law enforcement effort in Papua, three members of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) involved in various acts of violence in Yahukimo Regency have been officially handed over to the Jayawijaya District Attorney’s Office. This second phase of handover took place in Wamena on Tuesday, October 13, 2025, involving evidence and suspects who were apprehended from different locations.
The suspects are Hombim Sama alias Dilan Sama, Nander Sobolim, and Ami Sobolim alias Wanggol Sobolim. They are suspected of being involved in several criminal acts, including attacks on health workers and teachers in Anggruk District, serious assault, and theft with violence.
The handover process was conducted under tight security by the joint team of Ops Damai Cartenz Task Force and Yahukimo Police. After being escorted from Sentani Airport, the suspects and evidence were handed over to the Jayawijaya District Attorney’s Office and subsequently placed in Wamena Penitentiary.
Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, the Commander of Ops Damai Cartenz, stated that this activity demonstrates the authorities’ commitment to eradicating armed groups in Papua. He emphasized that the legal process will continue without compromise to ensure justice for victims and the community.
Deputy Ops Damai Cartenz, Kombes Pol. Adarma Sinaga, added that cooperation among law enforcement agencies in enforcing the law is a strategic step in maintaining security stability in Yahukimo and surrounding areas. He also affirmed that firm action will be taken against armed groups still engaging in violence.
The evidence handed over includes sharp weapons, stones, bloodstained clothing, and various items belonging to victims and suspects related to the crimes. With this handover, the suspects will undergo legal proceedings at the Jayawijaya District Attorney’s Office and face prosecution.
“Law enforcement against armed groups in Papua must continue firmly and consistently. We, from the Attorney’s Office and authorities, will ensure justice is served for all victims and the community,” Brigadier General Faizal stated.
