Dekai, Yahukimo — The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) has once again spread false information on social media, falsely claiming that the victim killed in Yahukimo was an intelligence officer of the Indonesian National Police. In reality, the victim was a civilian truck driver, not a police member.
Authorities confirmed that the photo circulated online by KKB and its supporters (KKP) shows IPDA Simon Petrus Sirken, a police officer who previously served at Yahukimo Police but has since been reassigned to Merauke Police, where he is currently stationed and alive.
The public is urged not to be easily deceived by disinformation and hoaxes spread by KKB and KKP, as such narratives are intended to mislead people and provoke unrest in Papua.
The truck driver who was killed was a civilian working to support development in Yahukimo, transporting construction materials to help improve the region’s infrastructure and economic growth.
This tragic incident highlights a harsh reality — the victims of KKB’s violence are often not security officers, but ordinary Papuan citizens who are working to build a peaceful, prosperous, and developed Papua.
