Intan Jaya, Central Papua — The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz, together with TNI and National Police personnel, immediately launched a pursuit operation following the fatal shooting of a road construction worker in Ndugusiga Village, Intan Jaya Regency, on Wednesday (October 8, 2025).
The victim, Anselmus Arfin (25), an employee of PT TJP, was shot dead while conducting a road survey along the border between Ndugusiga and Bambu Kuning Villages. Initial monitoring results indicated that the attack was carried out by members of the KKB faction led by Daniel Aibon Kogoya, who is known for repeated violent acts in the Intan Jaya area.
The Law Enforcement Task Unit (Satgas Gakkum) led by Police Captain AKP Ojan Prabowo, S.Tr.K., S.I.K., immediately conducted a pursuit operation, monitored the victim’s evacuation process at Sugapa Hospital, and coordinated with the company involved.
Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, confirmed that security measures in the area had been intensified.
“We have deployed personnel to several vulnerable points and strengthened patrols to prevent similar incidents from happening again. The team is also investigating to identify the perpetrators and the network behind this attack,” said Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga.
The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz emphasized its firm commitment to enforcing the law and ensuring that those responsible are brought to justice, while safeguarding public safety and stability in Intan Jaya and surrounding areas.
