Maintaining Security in Wamena, Jayawijaya Police Urge Residents to Limit Nighttime Activities

Wamena – The Jayawijaya Resort Police (Polres Jayawijaya) have called on residents to remain cautious and reduce activities outside their homes, particularly at night. The appeal was issued as part of efforts to prevent potential crimes that could disrupt public security and order (kamtibmas).

The Jayawijaya Police Chief emphasized that there has been an increase in security risks in several areas during nighttime hours. For this reason, residents are advised to avoid staying out late unless it is for urgent matters.

“We urge the community to help maintain public security through simple steps, one of which is reducing activities outside the home at night. This is important for everyone’s safety,” he stated.

In addition to this public appeal, the Jayawijaya Police have also strengthened routine patrols in vulnerable locations. The presence of officers on the ground is expected to prevent criminal acts and provide a sense of security for residents. With stronger cooperation between the police and the community, Polres Jayawijaya is optimistic that security in Wamena and its surrounding areas will remain safe and conducive
