Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 and Yahukimo Police Act Swiftly to Handle Assault Case in Yahukimo

Yahukimo – Personnel from the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, together with the Intelligence Unit of Yahukimo District Police, responded swiftly to a report of attempted murder and assault against a bridge construction worker on Barak Seradala Road KM 2, Yahukimo Regency, on Thursday (September 18, 2025).

The victim, identified as Muhammad Asdar (40), is a private sector worker residing in the Paradiso Complex.

The Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., explained that the incident began at around 11:30 AM Eastern Indonesian Time, while the victim and his coworkers were transporting stones for a river embankment project (bronjong).

“Suddenly, a group of unidentified individuals arrived. One of the perpetrators, who had dreadlocks, swung a machete toward the victim’s head, causing a laceration,” stated Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., added that the victim was not only attacked with a sharp weapon but was also beaten by the group.

“The victim was assaulted by approximately 15 individuals and pelted with stones. His truck was also vandalized. In a life-threatening situation, the victim managed to lock himself in the vehicle and reported the incident to Yahukimo Police,” Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga explained.

As a result of the incident, the victim suffered a head wound from the machete strike. Two witnesses at the scene provided statements that corroborated the chronology of the event.
