Yalimo Police Hold Joint Prayer and Commemoration of the Birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW 1447 H / 2025 M

Jayapura – The Yalimo District Police (Polres Yalimo) held a Joint Prayer and Commemoration of the Maulid (Birth) of Prophet Muhammad SAW 1447 H / 2025 AD, which took place at Babussalam Mosque, Yalimo Police Headquarters, Elelim District, Yalimo Regency, Highland Papua Province, on Sunday (September 14).

The event was led directly by the Chief of Yalimo Police, Commissioner of Police (Kompol) Joni Samonsabra, S.H., M.H., and was attended by representatives including the TNI 1702 Jayawijaya Military Liaison Officer, Deputy Commander of Task Force Yonif 521, Commander of Military Post (Danpos) Ramil Elelim, Danpos of Kopassus Elelim, Ustadz Abdul Rahman, key officials from the Yalimo Police, and elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Yalimo Regency.

The event began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Brother Wahyu Kurniawan, followed by remarks from the Yalimo Police Chief. In his speech, the Police Chief emphasized that the commemoration of the Prophet’s birth is not merely to remember the historical event, but also serves as a moment for reflection and to emulate the Prophet’s teachings in daily life.

“The Maulid of the Prophet reminds us that true worship is not only about rituals, but also about service to others, maintaining unity, and nurturing compassion within society,” said Commissioner Joni Samonsabra.

The event continued with a religious sermon and joint prayer led by Ustadz Abdul Rahman. In his message, he highlighted the importance of solidarity, unity, and integrity among all elements of society to preserve peace and prosperity in Papua.

Meanwhile, the Head of Community Guidance Unit (Kasat Binmas) of Yalimo Police, Aiptu La Ode Abdul Syukur, stated that the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday also serves as a means to strengthen faith and piety, as well as to enhance the bonds between the police, religious leaders, traditional leaders, and the local community.

“With a spirit of togetherness, we hope that the exemplary values of Prophet Muhammad SAW will strengthen our faith, reinforce brotherhood, and support the realization of a safe, peaceful, and prosperous Papua,” he conveyed.

The event proceeded solemnly, with a strong sense of unity, and concluded with prayers for blessings, peace, and unity for the people of Papua.
