TIMIKA — A significant milestone was marked in Mimika Regency on Thursday (September 11, 2025), as Richeese Factory — a national fast-food chain — officially launched its first outlet on Hasanuddin Street, Timika.
The inauguration was officiated by Acting Regional Secretary of Mimika, Abraham Kateyau, who welcomed the opening not merely as a new culinary venture, but as a strategic opportunity to strengthen the local economy and absorb workers from the region.
“The presence of this fast-food restaurant will bring added value, both in terms of improving modern culinary services for the community and in providing new job opportunities for our local youth,” Kateyau stated.
The local government further expressed hope that Richeese Factory would act as a catalyst for the growth of local businesses and small-medium enterprises (SMEs) through mutually beneficial collaboration. Kateyau emphasized that incoming investments must generate tangible impacts — socially, economically, and culturally — not only for large corporations but, more importantly, for the people of Mimika.
This outlet marks Richeese Factory’s first presence in Mimika Regency and is expected to serve as a magnet for other investors to tap into the region’s vast potential. The Regional Secretary also underlined the importance of synergy between government, business, and the community to ensure growth that is inclusive and sustainable.
The inauguration was highlighted with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and concluded with optimistic remarks from all parties, expressing confidence that the restaurant’s presence would expand job opportunities and improve the quality of life for the local community.
