Papuan Coffee Festival 2025 Officially Opened, 21 MSMEs Raise the Taste of Nusantara from Papua

Jayapura, Papua — Papua Coffee Festival 2025 officially opened with grand opening in the courtyard of the Representative Office of Bank Indonesia (BI) Papua Province, Jayapura City, on Thursday (11/9/2025). This year, the festival enters its 8th edition as well as marking a decade of the journey of Papuan coffee as a superior commodity that is increasingly known at the national and international levels.

The event titled Sewindu Papua Coffee Festival 2025 will last until Friday (9/12/2025), involving 21 leading MSMEs that serve authentic coffee from various regions in Papua. From the Central Mountains to the lowlands, each coffee bean presents a distinctive flavor character that reflects the diversity of Papua’s nature.

The Head Representative of BI Papua, Faturachman, in his speech emphasized that the Papuan Coffee Festival is not just a product exhibition event, but also part of the strategy to strengthen regional economic growth through the local commodity-based sector.

“Papuan coffee is our common pride. Through this festival, we want to encourage that Papuan coffee is not only known in the country, but also able to penetrate the global market as one of the leading commodities that opens up business opportunities and jobs,” said Faturachman.

This festival presents various series of activities, starting from UMKM exhibition, workshop, coffee cupping, to discussion with coffee activists. The presence of 21 leading MSMEs is expected to be able to expand the business network as well as give more space for farmers and Papuan coffee business actors to develop.

In addition to strengthening the branding of Papuan coffee, this activity also becomes a meeting place for business actors, investors, and consumers. This is in line with the spirit of BI Papua in encouraging regional economic transformation based on local resources towards independence and sustainability.

With the high enthusiasm of the public, the 2025 Papuan Coffee Festival is believed to further strengthen the position of Papuan coffee as one of the icons of the Nusantara’s creative economy and culture that was born from Bumi Cenderawasih.
