Puncak Jaya, Papua — Football once again proves itself not only as a sport, but also a means of social relations. This was seen when the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz personnel held a ball play activity with children in Gurage Village, Puncak Jaya Regency, Papua, Monday (9/8/2025).
In a simple moment in the village field, the children mingled with the officers without a partition. They ran, laughed, and kicked the ball with enthusiasm, as if forgetting the distance between the public and the security forces. The personnel involved in this activity are Brigpol Rudi, Briptu Yusuf, Bripda Robet, Bripda Khaidir, and Bripda Febrian from the ranks of the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz.
For Gurage children, the presence of officers who are usually synonymous with security duties now feels different: friendlier, closer, and become playmates. Meanwhile for the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz personnel, this moment is a way to build trust and instill the value of togetherness from an early age.
Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Brigadier General Pol. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that humanist activities like this are an important part of the operation strategy.
“Football is a simple but meaningful bridge to the heart. From this game, trust, emotional closeness, and a sense of brotherhood between the apparatus and the community are awakened,” he said.
In line with that, Deputy Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., expressed his appreciation for the positive response of the Gurage community.
“Children’s enthusiasm proves that peace can start from small things. The task force is present not only to maintain security, but also to fill the common space that grows new hope,” he said.
Activities like this reflect the new face of security enforcement in Papua, where the apparatus is present not only as a protector, but also part of the big family of the community. Through sports and togetherness, the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz seeks to instill love for the homeland, build harmony, and strengthen the commitment to create a safe and peaceful Papua.
