Jayapura – The National Council of Papuan Indigenous Youth (DPN Pemuda Adat Papua) has issued an important appeal to the people of Papua, calling for unity and peace amid the current situation. Chairman of the National Council, Jan C. Arebo, S.H., M.H., urged communities not to be easily provoked by rumors or unverified information.
In its statement, the Council outlined four key points. First, communities are encouraged to remain calm, united, and resilient against divisive issues. Second, they are urged to safeguard neighborhood security through vigilance, mutual deliberation, and collective cooperation.
Third, the Council called on people to extend moral support and prayers for the Indonesian National Police (Polri) so they may continue to carry out their duties with strength, professionalism, and humanity. Fourth, it emphasized the importance of using social media wisely by refraining from spreading content that could fuel unrest, while instead promoting messages of unity.
“Together we can keep Papua peaceful,” Jan C. Arebo declared in his statement.
This appeal is expected to strengthen solidarity among all segments of Papuan society in maintaining security and public order, while fostering a stable and peaceful environment for all.
