Former Acting Regent of Nduga Firmly Rejects Threats from KKB Influencer, Urges Authorities to Declare Sebby Sambom a Fugitive

Jayapura, June 17, 2025 — Former Acting Regent of Nduga, Dr. Anderson Gwijangge, has firmly rejected a series of accusations, incitements, and threats directed at him and his family. The statement was delivered during a press conference in Jayapura on Tuesday (17/6).

In his remarks, Gwijangge responded to statements previously issued by Sebby Sambom, known as an influencer of the West Papua armed separatist group (KKB), as well as circulating messages among the public. He highlighted three statements made by Sambom on June 6, 2025.

First, the order to Egianus Kogoya, Commander of Kodap III, to assassinate Gwijangge, his family, and his working team. Second, the allegation that Gwijangge had promised to provide IDR 25 billion for the release of pilot Captain Philip Marthen. Third, the declaration that Gwijangge and his family were placed on a wanted list (DPO).

“The authority to declare someone a fugitive lies with the state, not with you. In fact, with such threats, incitement, and defamation, it is you who could be categorized as a fugitive,” Gwijangge asserted.

He further stated that while he personally could accept attacks directed at him, he strongly rejected any threats targeting his family and team.

“I reject this, before God I reject this. You must withdraw those threats. For the sake of the Papuan people and the universe, withdraw them. Otherwise, you will be cursed,” he declared firmly.

Gwijangge emphasized that his patience, after nine months of restraint, had reached its limit. He therefore urged that all forms of incitement and threats be immediately halted.
