Cartenz Peace Task Force Holds Humanitarian Outreach with Children in Pomako

MIMIKA, Central Papua – Personnel from the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force (Ops Damai Cartenz) in Timika held a community outreach activity with children along the road to Pomako, Mimika Timur District, on Wednesday afternoon (Aug 27, 2025).

The officers shared moments of joy with the children by distributing bottled milk, candies, and small Indonesian flags. They also engaged in casual conversations, offered words of encouragement, and promoted a spirit of patriotism from an early age.

The activity involved members of the task force’s public relations unit, including Iptu I Gde Pradana Sthirabudhi, Briptu Santriawan Mangumpaus, Briptu Yoga Yandika, Bripda Annisa Mahardika, and Bripda M. Adharmansyah Rumakat. Children enthusiastically welcomed the presence of the officers, waving the small red-and-white flags they received.

Cartenz Peace Operation Chief, Brig. Gen. Faizal Ramadhani, praised the initiative, describing it as a meaningful way to strengthen community bonds. “This is not only about sharing but also about showing that security forces are present with a human face. Such activities help build unity and foster love for the nation, especially among the younger generation,” he said.

Deputy Chief of Cartenz Peace Operation, Police Commissioner Adarma Sinaga, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that humanitarian activities serve as effective communication channels between security forces and the community. “We want to show that law enforcement officers are not only here to enforce the law but also to be friends of the people. Children are the future of Papua, and through activities like this we can instill a spirit of unity, peace, and pride in Indonesia from an early age,” he noted.

The task force reaffirmed its commitment to continue carrying out humanitarian initiatives across its operational areas as part of efforts to build trust, strengthen ties with communities, and foster a peaceful, safe, and prosperous Papua.
