Jayapura – The Chairman of the Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PHDI) for Papua Province, I Komang A. Wardana, expressed his gratitude for the successful implementation of the Re-Vote (PSU) in Papua on August 6, 2025, which took place safely and smoothly at all levels.
Wardana extended his appreciation to all PSU organizers who worked tirelessly despite the dynamics and dissatisfaction expressed by some parties. “We should be grateful that the PSU went well. While there may still be dissatisfaction here and there, the process was carried out peacefully,” he said.
He urged Hindus and the Papuan community at large not to be provoked by issues or false news that could damage unity. According to him, differences in political choices must be met with mutual respect. “Let us work together, walk hand in hand, and avoid hoaxes or provocative news that would only bring hardship to the people of Papua,” he added.
Wardana also stressed the importance of respecting the legal process at the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the results of the PSU. He believes that candidate pairs will present their data and evidence in accordance with the applicable legal mechanisms. “The Constitutional Court’s decision is something we must respect. Whatever the outcome, that will be the best for Papua,” he affirmed.
In closing, the PHDI Papua Chair once again emphasized the importance of maintaining harmony and peace in Papua after the re-vote. “Let us safeguard unity and peace in Papua for a better future. May Almighty God always bless us all,” he concluded.
