Biak, Papua – The Biak Numfor Regency Government has called on the Biak Numfor Women’s Organization Association (GOW) to actively support the implementation of its flagship development initiative, Towards a Glorious Biak (MBG). The appeal was made during an official meeting held on Monday (August 25, 2025) at the Regent’s Office Hall.
Regent Herry Ario Naap emphasized the crucial role GOW can play in supporting the MBG program, which focuses on improving community welfare, empowering women, and strengthening education and healthcare services.
“GOW has a broad network and a strategic role in society. We hope GOW can serve as an active partner in promoting and mobilizing the MBG program at the grassroots level,” said Regent Herry in his remarks.
The MBG program, launched earlier in 2025, is a key initiative by the Biak Numfor Government aimed at accelerating regional development through community participation. The program covers various sectors, including infrastructure, economy, and public services.
Chairwoman of GOW Biak Numfor, Mrs. Maria Rumkabu, welcomed the invitation and expressed her organization’s readiness to collaborate with the local government in realizing the goals of the MBG program. She noted that strong synergy between women’s organizations and the government is essential to achieve sustainable change.
Through this collaboration, the Biak Numfor Government hopes that all community elements, including women’s organizations, will actively contribute to building a more advanced, independent, and prosperous Biak.
