Papua – By day, he is known as the Head of Unit 2, Subden 4 Bantis, Detachment Gegana, Papua Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob). But beyond his brown uniform, IPDA Edwin Kaisiri, S.M., holds a deep dedication to the world of bodybuilding. At the 2025 South East Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sport Federation Championship in Bangkok, Thailand, Edwin proudly secured 5th place in the 75 Kg Bodybuilding category, bringing honor to both Papua and Indonesia on the ASEAN stage.
The championship, held at the Alexander Hotel Bangkok from August 18–25, 2025, gathered the finest bodybuilders from 11 Southeast Asian nations. Known as the region’s most prestigious competition, it serves as a benchmark for physical excellence, discipline, and commitment before athletes step onto the Asian and global stages. Intense rivalry, meticulous scoring by an international judging panel, and world-class training standards have made this event one of the most anticipated by bodybuilding enthusiasts.
Amidst the highly competitive atmosphere, Edwin performed with confidence, showcasing the results of his relentless hard work. For him, this achievement was more than just numbers on a scoreboard. It was the outcome of great sacrifice—balancing his duties as a Brimob officer with the rigorous training regimen alongside Indonesia’s national bodybuilding team. His life motto remains steady: “Never give up on becoming the best version of yourself.”
In a post-competition interview, Edwin expressed his profound gratitude:
“First of all, all praise and thanks to Lord Jesus for His guidance and protection, which allowed me to go through preparation and competition in good health.”
“I am deeply grateful to the Papua Police Chief and the Commander of the Brimob Unit, who granted me special dispensation to prepare and join the Indonesian National Bodybuilding Team under PBFI Indonesia for this championship. My heartfelt thanks also go to my wife and children, my extended family, the Brimob Papua family, the Chairman of PBFI Indonesia, the Papua Provincial Government, PBFI Papua, PBFI Jayapura, the owner of Dunia Nutrisi Indonesia, and all friends whose unwavering support I cannot name one by one.”
