Jakarta – PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) is celebrating the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence throughout August with a spirit of nationalism and unity, flowing from upstream to downstream operations.
As the world’s largest integrated copper mining company, PTFI is holding various activities spanning its upstream areas in Papua—including Tembagapura, Kuala Kencana, and Nabire—to its downstream facilities in Gresik and its head office in Jakarta.
President Director of PTFI, Tony Wenas, shared a special message with the entire Freeport Indonesia family.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations on the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia to the entire Freeport Indonesia family—whether in Tembagapura, Kuala Kencana, Nabire, Gresik, Jakarta, or wherever you may be. Let us work together, from Papua for an Advanced Indonesia,” said Tony.
This celebration serves as a significant moment for Freeport to reinforce its role in the national mineral downstreaming efforts, especially following the completion of the world’s largest copper smelter in Gresik, East Java.
