Puncak Jaya — The Task Force of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, together with the Criminal Investigation Unit of Puncak Jaya Police, conducted a crime scene reconstruction of the fatal shooting of the late Brigpol Ronal M. Enok. The activity took place at Kampung Lima-Lima, Pagaleme District, Puncak Jaya Regency, on Monday (August 18, 2025) around 12:16 PM WIT.
Led by AKP Safri Panterengi, Head of Investigation of the Law Enforcement Task Force, the team reenacted the positions of the victim, perpetrators, evidence, and distances around the crime scene. This reconstruction aimed to clarify the chronology of the incident that occurred on January 21, 2025, which claimed the life of Brigpol Ronal.
The reconstruction revealed several key points, including the victim’s position when he collapsed, his motorcycle, helmet, kerosene jerry can, the position of the perpetrator Kindiku Tabuni alias Gumbanak when firing the shots, and the vehicle used by another perpetrator, Konara Enumbi. Konara was arrested by Operation Peace Cartenz personnel on Friday (August 15, 2025) at 10:40 AM WIT in a traditional house at Kampung Usir Depan, Puncak Jaya.
Konara is suspected to have been directly involved in the attack alongside the armed criminal group led by Bumiwalo Telenggen. He is currently in custody and under further investigation by the Puncak Jaya Police.
Additionally, investigators found critical evidence at the scene: three 9 mm bullet casings and two gold-colored projectiles. Distances between each position, from the victim to the discovery of evidence, were carefully measured to strengthen the investigation and legal process against the perpetrators.
The Head of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head of Operation, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that this effort is part of professional law enforcement against armed criminal groups that continue to spread violence in Papua.
“This reconstruction is a crucial step in ensuring a clear chronology of events and reinforcing the existing evidence so that the perpetrators can be prosecuted under the law. Operation Peace Cartenz remains committed to fully investigating the shooting of the late Brigpol Ronal M. Enok,” stated Brigjen Pol Dr. Faizal Ramadhani.
At the same time, the Head of Public Relations Task Force, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., called on the public to remain vigilant and not be swayed by provocative narratives.
“We urge all residents of Puncak Jaya to work together in maintaining a safe and conducive situation. Report immediately if you encounter suspicious activities from armed groups. Operation Peace Cartenz will continue to safeguard and protect the community,” affirmed Kombes Pol Yusuf Sutejo.
Through this reconstruction, the National Police reaffirmed its commitment to uncovering the truth with transparency and enforcing the law firmly. Operation Peace Cartenz, in collaboration with the Puncak Jaya Police, will continue the investigation until all perpetrators involved in the shooting of Brigpol Ronal M. Enok are brought to justice.
