Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz Arrests Armed Criminal Group Members in Puncak Jaya

Puncak Jaya — The arrest of members of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Central Papua again proves the effectiveness of intelligence cooperation between security forces and the public. On Friday (8/15/2025) around 10.40 WIT, the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz succeeded in arresting Konara Enumbi, a fugitive in the shooting case against Brigadier Ronald Enok on January 21, 2025.

The arrest operation was carried out at a honai in Usir Depan Village, Puncak Jaya Regency, after the joint team obtained accurate information from the results of area mapping and local community reports. The arrests took place quickly and measuredly, without causing additional casualties in the field.

Konara Enumbi is known to be part of the KKB Yambi army led by Tengah Mati Enumbi, Commander of Kodap Yambi. He is suspected to be directly involved in the shooting in Lima-lima Village, Pagaleme District, which killed Brigpol Ronald Enok. In addition, he played an active role in armed attacks against security forces in the region.

From the hands of the suspect, the officers secured a number of evidence, including one unit of Yamaha Vixion 150 motorcycle, one head noken, one brown jacket, and three packs of betel nut. The suspect has now been taken to the Puncak Jaya Police Station to undergo an intensive examination and further legal process.

Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Brigadier General Police Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head of Operation Peace Cartenz Chief Commissioner of Police. Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., called this success as the result of synergy between field operations and intelligence support.

“This success is proof that intelligence coordination and community cooperation are very important. We will continue to hunt down the perpetrators of armed violence in Papua without compromise, in order to maintain the safety of residents and officials,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations for Operation Peace Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., appreciated the citizens who played a role in providing important information.

“We thank the community for giving the report. The participation of residents is very helpful in breaking the movement space of KKB. We urge the public to remain vigilant, report if there is any suspicious activity, and not to be provoked by divisive narratives,” he said.

The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz emphasized that law enforcement operations will continue to run consistently, by putting forward the principle of citizen safety and regional stability.
