Puncak Jaya – The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 successfully apprehended a member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) named Konara Enumbi, who had been a fugitive in connection with the shooting of Police Officer Brigpol Ronald Enok on January 21, 2025. The arrest was carried out on Friday (August 15, 2025) at around 10:40 WIT in a honai (traditional Papuan house) in Usir Depan Village, Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua.
Konara Enumbi is known to be part of the Yambi KKB unit, under the leadership of Tengah Mati Enumbi, who serves as Commander of the Yambi Defense Area Command (Kodap Yambi). He is strongly suspected of direct involvement in the killing of Brigpol Ronald Enok in Lima-lima Village, Pagaleme District, Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua, as well as participating as an armed member in multiple shooting incidents targeting security forces.
During the arrest, personnel from the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 secured several pieces of evidence, including:
One Yamaha Vixion 150 motorcycle
One traditional Papuan noken (head-carried bag)
One brown jacket
Three packs of betel nuts
The suspect has been taken to the Puncak Jaya Police Resort for further legal processing and investigation.
The Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by the Deputy Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that they will continue to pursue and firmly act against anyone involved in armed violence in Papua.
“Law enforcement against perpetrators of armed crimes will be carried out with the utmost firmness. There is no room for those who threaten the safety and security of both the public and security personnel in Papua. This arrest is part of our ongoing commitment to uphold the law and maintain security stability,” stressed Brigadier General Faizal.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relation of the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged residents of Puncak Jaya and surrounding areas to continue working in close collaboration with security forces.
“We urge all residents to remain calm and keep cooperating with security forces. Security personnel will continue to be present and work to the maximum to provide protection and ensure public safety from all forms of security threats,” he stated.
The Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 reaffirms that law enforcement operations will continue in order to create a safe and conducive environment for all communities in Papua.
