Papuan Youth Leader Urges Public to Maintain Security After Repeat Voting

Jayapura – Papuan youth leader Absalom Kreway Yarisetouw has called on all Papuans to work together to maintain security and public order following the repeat voting (PSU) in Papua. (Monday, August 11, 2025).

In his statement, Absalom stressed the importance of leaving the election results and decisions entirely in the hands of the Papua Provincial General Elections Commission (KPU).

“Whatever the outcome later determined or decided by the Provincial KPU, whoever is elected as governor will be the best son of Papua who will lead the region toward a better future,” Absalom said.

He also encouraged the public to continue working hand in hand to keep Papua safe, peaceful, and harmonious. According to him, a conducive situation is key to achieving development and shared prosperity in the Land of Papua.

“Let’s all maintain security and order. The PSU is over — now is the time to unite and support whoever is elected for the progress of Papua,” he added.

Absalom expressed hope that after the PSU, all elements of society would prioritize unity and avoid any form of provocation that could disrupt stability in Papua.
