Jayapura — PT PLN (Persero) ensures the reliability of the electricity supply during the implementation of the Re-Voting (PSU) for the Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua Province which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. To support the smooth running of this democratic process, PLN deployed as many as 315 personnel who will be on alert at various strategic points in the Papua region.
General Manager of PLN of the Papua and West Papua Region Parent Unit, Diksi Erfani Umar, stated that his party has made comprehensive preparations to ensure that the electrical system remains reliable during the PSU period.
“PLN has set a standby period from August 4 to 8, 2025. During this period, we disal planned maintenance that has the potential to disrupt the power supply, except for emergencies,” said Diksi in its written statement.
In supporting the preparedness, PLN established 17 standby posts scattered throughout the service offices in the Papua region. These posts function as monitoring centers and quick response in the event of an electrical outage.
In addition, PLN also prepares various supporting equipment to ensure the continuity of power supply. Among them are:
- 10 Mobile Substation Units (UGB)
- 7 Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Units
- 17 Gense Units
- 13 Crane Units
This step was taken as a form of PLN’s commitment in supporting the implementation of safe, orderly, and without technical obstacles, especially in the electrical aspect.
“The election is a national strategic agenda. PLN is fully committed to guaranteeing reliable electricity services so that the democratic process in Papua can run smoothly without interruption,” said Diksi.
PLN also continues to coordinate with election organizers and local governments to ensure that all electricity needs at the Polling Place (TPS) location, KPU office, and other vital points are met during the PSU process.
With strategic steps and full readiness, PLN hopes to make maximum contribution in supporting the successful implementation of PSU Pilgub Papua 2025 safely and democratically.
