JAYAPURA — The General Election Commission (KPU) of Papua Province affirms that all logistics for the Repeated Voting (PSU) for the 2024 Papua Governor and Deputy Governor Election, as a follow-up to the Constitutional Court (MK) ruling, have begun distribution to various regions in Papua.
KPU Papua Chairperson, Diana Simbiak, conveyed this information during the logistics dispatch at the KPU Logistics Warehouse in Jayapura City, located at the former Entrop Terminal, on Monday (August 4).
“As of today, at 09:30 WIT, a total of 473 ballot boxes have been dispatched from the logistics warehouse. Of these, approximately 312 boxes are estimated to have arrived at the District Election Committees (PPD), 6 boxes are already at the Voting Committee (PPS), and 5 boxes have reached the Voting Stations (TPS),” Diana explained.
Diana added that the logistics distribution is a crucial step in ensuring the smooth and successful implementation of the PSU across Papua. She emphasized that trust in the democratic process heavily depends on the readiness and security of these logistics.
In the same opportunity, the KPU Papua Chairperson reminded all relevant parties to maintain security and integrity during the distribution and implementation of the PSU. She also urged the community to stay calm and actively participate in this democratic process.
With the ongoing logistics preparations, it is hoped that the PSU process in Papua will proceed smoothly and produce decisions that genuinely reflect the people’s will in an honest and fair manner.
