Jayapura, Papua — The General Election Commission (KPU) of Jayapura Regency began distributing the logistics of Re-Voting (PSU) for the 2024 Papua Governor and Vice Governor elections to a number of regions, in accordance with the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) which ordered the implementation of PSU in eight districts/cities.
The initial distribution of logistics was carried out on Thursday, July 31, 2025, with the destination of three districts in the Jayapura Regency area, namely Kaureh District, Yapsi District, and Airu District. The logistics sent includes ballots, ballot boxes, voting forms, ink, and other TPS equipment.
The Chairman of the Jayapura Regency KPU, Efra Jerianto Tunya, said that his party had prepared a gradual distribution process to ensure that the logistics arrived on time at all Polling Places (TPS) before the implementation of the PSU on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
“Our distribution is done gradually because it considers the terrain factor and access to several districts that are quite difficult. We hope the logistics arrive safely and there is no delay,” said Efra.
He also appealed to the people in all areas of Jayapura Regency, especially in 139 villages and 5 sub-districts spread across 19 districts, to play a role in maintaining the stability of security and conduciveness of the region before and during the re-vote.
“We invite the public to jointly maintain security and support the implementation of this PSU as part of the democratic process. Your voice is very important for the future of Papua,” he added.
The distribution of PSU logistics involves strict escort from the TNI and Polri security forces, to anticipate all forms of disturbances that can hinder the smooth implementation of re-election. The escort process will continue until the day of the election and vote counting.
The implementation of PSU Pilgub Papua 2024 is expected to run in an orderly, safe manner, and become a tangible manifestation of democratic maturity in Papua.
