Pegunungan Bintang — The people of Apom Village, Kiwirok District, Bintang Mountains Regency, felt the warmth and real attention from the police officers who were present directly to their village on Friday (8/1/2025). During the visit, residents received assistance in the form of plant seeds for agriculture and stationery supplies for school children.
This visit was led by IPDA Munawar with 12 personnel and supported by 4 members of the Kiwirok Police. They visited the residents with the spirit of gotong royong and concern for the welfare of the people in the countryside.
The head of Apom Village, Selkius Yamhim, admitted that he was very touched by the attention given. He said that the presence of the apparatus not only brings physical assistance, but also awakens new spirit and hope for its citizens.
“We feel we are not alone. This plant seed assistance is very important for people who rely on garden produce for daily life. Children are also happy because they get new stationery for school,” he said.
The activity takes place in an atmosphere full of familiarity. Residents are seen enthusiastically in dialogue with the officers, conveying their complaints and hopes for improving infrastructure, education, and health services in their area.
In the midst of limited access and challenging geographical conditions, visits like this are an important symbol that the government does not forget the people in mountainous areas. Residents hope that similar activities can continue with a focus on economic empowerment, education, and humane security guarantees.
The presence of friendly officials and willing to listen to the people’s voices is considered to be able to erode the fear and distrust that has existed so far. A more humanistic approach is expected to be a bridge to build peace and common progress in the Bintang Mountains region.
Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Brigadier General Pol. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police. Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., appreciated the positive synergy between personnel in the field and the community. He emphasized that a visit like this is one of the real forms of the apparatus’ commitment in building a safe and prosperous Papua through a social approach.
“We are present not only to maintain security, but also to provide direct benefits to the community. Our mission is to take care of people’s trust with concrete actions that touch their basic needs,” he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations Operation Peace Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., added that the activity is part of a more open and collaboratively oriented communication strategy.
“We want the public to see that the apparatus does not come with a mere strength approach, but with empathy and care. With the help of agriculture and stationery, we hope to be able to grow a new spirit for children and their families,” said Kombes Yusuf.
Through real help and warm interaction, the people of Kampung Apom now feel more confident in facing the future armed with a strong partnership with the police as protectors, friends, and movers of progress.
