Jayapura, Papua — Ahead of the implementation of the Re-Voting (PSU) for the Papua Governor Election which will be held on August 6, 2025, the Jayapura City Resort Police (Polresta) held a parade to check the readiness of personnel at Rastra Samara Square, State Police School (SPN) of the Papua Regional Police, Thursday (7/31/2025).
This Apple is led directly by the Jayapura City Police, Chief Commissioner of police Fredrickus W.A. Maclarimboen, as a form of final check on the readiness of all personnel who will be on duty in securing PSU in the Jayapura City area.
In his statement, Kombes Pol Fredrickus said that as many as 475 Jayapura City Police personnel were alerted to maintain the smoothness and security of the re-voting process.
“These hundreds of personnel will later be deployed at the Polling Station (TPS), carrying out mobile patrols, escorting logistics distribution, and monitoring the development of the situation in their respective regions,” he said.
He also emphasized that this security is not only preventive, but also reflects the full commitment of the Jayapura City Police in maintaining neutrality and stability during the implementation of the PSU.
“We want to ensure that this democratic process runs honestly, fairly, and safely. There should be no interference from any party that can hurt the implementation of the Papuan people’s democracy party,” said the Police Chief.
In addition to Polresta personnel, security will also involve TNI elements as well as support from other functional units that are part of the integrated security system.
The people of Jayapura City are urged to actively participate while maintaining a peaceful atmosphere and not being easily provoked by issues that cannot be accounted for. Jayapura Regional Police ensures that they will provide maximum security for the success of the Papua Governor’s PSU in 2025.
