Mimika, Papua – A heartwarming scene unfolded on an open field along Jl. Pemuda, Kamoro Jaya, Mimika Baru District, Mimika Regency, on Wednesday afternoon (30/7/2025), as personnel from the Peace Operation Cartenz 2025 Public Relations Task Force engaged in a friendly soccer match with local children and teenagers.
The event, led by Head of Public Relation Iptu I Gde Pradana Sthirabudhi, S.Ds., was part of the ongoing humanitarian approach by the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 to foster closeness and harmonious relations between security forces and the Papuan community. Laughter and joy filled the air as children enthusiastically participated in the game, interacted, and shared lighthearted moments with the officers. After the match, the officers distributed fruit juice drinks as a gesture of care and affection.
Beyond the game, the children comfortably shared stories and jokes with the personnel, reflecting the success of creating a warm and inclusive social space. The event concluded with a group photo session in the spirit of Indonesian independence, where the children waved small red-and-white flags—a symbol of early nationalism.
Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum. (Deputy Head of Operation), emphasized that this initiative reflects the Indonesian National Police’s (Polri) commitment to a humanitarian approach in Papua.
“This activity is part of our routine humanistic efforts under Operation Peace Cartenz. We aim to nurture hope, build closeness, and foster peace with the Papuan community, especially the younger generation. Through play and shared joy, we plant seeds of trust and harmony in their hearts,” said Brigadier General Faizal.
Echoing his statement, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., Head of Public Relation for the operation, affirmed that such events effectively strengthen social ties between security forces and the community.
“Humanitarian activities are a powerful means of building strong social communication between law enforcement and the people. Children are the bridge to the future, and through friendly engagement, we instill values of unity and trust in the nation,” Chief Commissioner Yusuf explained.
Through similar regular initiatives, Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 continues to present a humane, friendly, and peace-building presence of the Indonesian National Police across Papua.
