Operation Peace Cartenz Task Force Conducts Humanitarian Patrol in Yahukimo

Yahukimo, Papua — The Task Force of Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 deployed in Yahukimo reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a peaceful and secure Papua through a humanitarian patrol conducted at the Sekla post on Wednesday (22/7/2025).

This patrol was more than a routine security check; it served as a bridge to connect with local communities. During the activity, personnel warmly greeted residents, engaged in light conversations, and interacted with children who appeared delighted by the officers’ presence.

The warm atmosphere created by the patrol brought a sense of safety and comfort to the village. Children smiled, residents welcomed the team, and the village came to life with the presence of the Task Force.

In his statement, Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head of Operation, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that humanitarian patrols are an essential part of the operation’s strategy, focusing not only on law enforcement but also on persuasive and heartfelt approaches.

“This humanitarian patrol is a tangible form of our approach — listening, greeting, and being present as protectors of the people, not as a threat. We want the public to feel calm, knowing that we are here to safeguard, not to intimidate,” explained Brigadier General Faizal.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relation Task Force, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., highlighted that this humanitarian initiative aims to build a harmonious relationship between officers and the community, fostering a sense of security through closeness.

“We conduct these activities so the community can directly feel that the Task Force is here to serve and protect. Through respectful and empathetic interactions, we aim to build trust and strengthen the bond between security forces and local residents,” said Chief Commissioner Yusuf.

The people of Yahukimo responded positively to the initiative, expressing gratitude for the officers’ friendly and open demeanor, which did not instill fear but instead built comfort.

With compassion and dialogue, Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 continues to demonstrate that peace in Papua is built through closeness, not confrontation — through trust, not coercion. Humanitarian patrols serve as a vital bridge toward a more peaceful, safe, and prosperous Papua.
