Puncak Jaya — personnel Task Force Operation Peace Carten managed to arrest Male Telenggen, a member of an armed criminal group (KKB) in the Puncak Jaya area. The arrest was carried out at a honai in Wuyuneri Village, Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua, on Saturday (19/7) around 16.41 WIT.
Previously, the presence of Male Telenggen has been detected through aerial observation. After the location was confirmed, the Task Force Team immediately took action and secured the perpetrator. Currently, the person concerned has been taken to the Puncak Jaya Police Station for further legal proceedings.
Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Brigadier General Police Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head of Peace Operations Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., stated that this arrest is part of the apparatus’s commitment in enforcing the law and maintaining security stability in Central Papua.
“Male Telenggen is included in the People Wanted List (DPO). He is suspected of being involved in two murder cases, namely the shooting of Serka Jefri on August 15, 2024 at the Sport Center, Luguneri Village, Pagaleme District, and the murder of Edi Hermanto civilians at the Mulia City Central Market on July 12, 2025. In the last action, Male Telenggen plays the role of a motorcyclist who rides the shooter named Nanubingga Enumbi,” explained Brigadier General Faizal.
Male Telenggen is known to be a member of the Armed Criminal Group Yambi army under the command of Lekagak Telenggen.
In the arrest, the authorities also secured a number of evidences, namely:
• 1 unit of Samsung brand cellphone
• 2 nokens
• 1 head noken
• 9 necklaces
• 1 piece of brown jacket
Until now, the Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz Team is still developing, especially regarding the existence of firearms that are still controlled by the Male Telenggen group and other Armed Criminal Groups networks.
Head of Public Relations for Peace Operation Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged the public to stay alert and immediately report suspicious activities in their respective neighborhoods.
“The investigation is still ongoing. We invite all people to synergize and do not hesitate to report if they find suspicious things around them,” he concluded.
