Biak, Papua – The Provincial Government of Highland Papua, in collaboration with the Biak Numfor Regency Government, held an inter-regional Technical Coordination Meeting (Rakortek) to strengthen development cooperation, on Wednesday (July 16) at the KSL Building in Biak.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Saireri Bay region, including the regencies of Yapen Islands, Supiori, and Waropen, as well as members of the TNI-Polri Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and various investors from inside and outside Papua.
Biak Numfor Regent Markus Mansnembra, who also serves as Chair of the Saireri Customary Territory Regents Association, described the forum as a strategic and historic step to accelerate equitable development across the Highland Papua and Saireri regions.
“This is a significant moment in the governance history of Papua. This coordination meeting marks a new milestone in accelerating development in two strategic regions—Highland Papua and Saireri,” said Markus.
He expressed hope that the inter-regional collaboration would open up investment opportunities, improve interregional connectivity, and enhance synergy among government institutions, security forces, and the private sector to advance Papua as a whole.
