Jayapura — A prominent Papuan academic, Dr. Alfius Aninam, S.Th., M.Pd., has expressed his deep appreciation for the performance of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force, praising its consistent efforts in maintaining security and enforcing the law against Armed Criminal Groups (KKB) in Papua.
In a statement delivered in Jayapura on Wednesday (July 16, 2025), Dr. Alfius emphasized that the firm actions taken by the task force reflect the state’s real presence in protecting civilians from acts of violence perpetrated by KKB.
“The presence of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force is a strong commitment to creating peace and a sense of security in Papua,” said Dr. Alfius.
He also expressed full support for the task force’s continuous efforts to uphold the rule of law in the region.
“We truly appreciate the task force’s dedication in bringing justice and order. The violent and criminal acts carried out by KKB are deeply condemned, as they do not reflect the noble values of Papuan society,” he added.
Dr. Alfius also called on all elements of society to take part in safeguarding public order and security in their respective areas. He stressed the importance of remaining calm, avoiding provocation, and supporting government efforts to build lasting peace.
“Let us work together to maintain public safety and give no space to those who seek to disrupt the harmony we’ve built. Papua is a land of peace—it is time for us to live in unity again, free from violence,” he concluded.
