Biak, Papua – A total of 36 high school and vocational school graduates from Biak Numfor Regency, Papua, have been selected to pursue higher education through the 2025 Affirmative Higher Education Program (ADik). The program is fully funded by the central government through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology for a duration of eight semesters or four years.
“Graduates participating in the ADik program from Biak Numfor will receive full tuition coverage from the government until they complete their studies,” said Biak Numfor Regent Markus Mansnembra during the official send-off of the 2025 ADik participants on Wednesday, July 16.
The ADik program is an affirmative government policy aimed at expanding access to higher education for youth living in frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped (3T) regions. Its objective is not only to increase college enrollment rates but also to produce competitive and high-quality human resources.
Regent Markus expressed his hope that the students from Biak Numfor would study diligently, make their families proud, and eventually return to contribute to the development of their home region.
The departure of the 36 students received full support from the Biak Numfor Regency Government, parents, and the local community. The ADik program represents a concrete effort to provide educational opportunities and build a brighter future for Papua’s young generation.
