Mimika, Central Papua — A warm and joyful atmosphere filled the air as personnel from Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 visited residents in the Freeport Lama area, Mimika Baru District, Mimika Regency, on Wednesday afternoon (July 9, 2025).
This visit was part of a humanistic approach promoted by the task force to strengthen ties with the local community. More than just carrying out security duties, the personnel engaged directly with children through fun activities such as flying kites, playing soccer, and sharing snacks.
The Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., along with Deputy Head of Operation Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., were also present during the activity. Brig. Gen. Faizal emphasized the importance of building emotional connections with the community to create long-lasting peace and stability in Papua.
“Our presence here is not only about maintaining security but also about earning the community’s trust and building strong social bonds. A peaceful Papua can only be achieved when the people and security forces walk together,” said Brig. Gen. Faizal.
The Head of Public Relations for Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., added that similar community engagement activities will continue to be held regularly across various operational areas.
“We want people to see us not just as enforcers of the law, but as friends. Through these humanistic efforts, we aim to build open communication and mutual trust,” said Chief Comm. Yusuf.
The visit was warmly received by local residents, particularly children who enthusiastically joined the various activities. The cheerful atmosphere reflected the spirit of unity and strengthened the harmonious relationship between the police and the people of Papua.
