A magnitude 5.6 earthquake shook the Keerom area in Papua on Sunday (July 6, 2025) at approximately 3:21 PM WIB. According to BMKG reports, the epicenter was located 217 kilometers southeast of Keerom, at coordinates 3.95° South Latitude and 142.62° East Longitude. The earthquake’s depth was recorded at 143 kilometers.
