Yahukimo, Highland Papua — Swift and decisive action was demonstrated by personnel of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 when an attempted act of violence was carried out against a civilian by unknown perpetrators in Yahukimo Regency, Highland Papua, on Saturday (July 5, 2025).
The victim, identified as Achmad (34), a farmer from Lapangisi who resides on Jalan Pos Pertanian, Dekai, was rescued after being targeted in an attack by a group of unidentified individuals while riding his motorcycle near the Seng Pagar Tinggi area. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 PM local time.
Achmad was riding when he encountered three unknown men, one of whom was armed with a machete. One of the suspects immediately swung the weapon at him. Fortunately, Achmad was able to dodge the strike and sustained only a minor wound to his waist. He received medical treatment and is currently in stable condition.
Upon receiving the report, Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 promptly responded by deploying ten personnel led by Bripka Romansya, S.H., to the scene. The team conducted a thorough sweep and active patrols in the area to secure the location and pursue the suspects.
Responding to the incident, the Head of Peace Operation Cartenz 2025, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head of the Operation, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the people of Papua.
“We will not tolerate any form of violence against civilians. The Peace Cartenz Task Force is here to ensure that every individual, regardless of who they are, has the right to feel safe in Papua. This quick response is a clear reflection of that commitment,” emphasized Brigadier General Faizal.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations for Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., urged the public to remain calm and not be provoked by actions intended to create unrest.
“We continue to intensify patrols and community engagement. Security in Yahukimo is a shared responsibility. We ask everyone to stay vigilant but not panic. Trust the security forces,” said Chief Commissioner Yusuf.
The swift and measured response by field personnel, coupled with solid coordination among task force units, serves as proof that the professional and humanistic approach of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025 remains firmly in place in maintaining stability and security in Highland Papua, particularly in Yahukimo.
