Papua Interfaith Prayer Marks Bhayangkara Day, Muslim Leader Offers Blessings for Police

Jayapura, Papua — In a solemn and unifying atmosphere, the Papua Regional Police (Polda Papua) held an Interfaith Prayer Gathering to commemorate the 79th Bhayangkara Day. The event was attended by religious leaders from Islam, Protestantism, Catholicism, and Hinduism, along with high-ranking police officials.

Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Papua Province, KH. Syaiful Islam Al-Fayage, delivered a heartfelt prayer, offering blessings for the police officers serving in Papua. He prayed for strength, safety, and divine guidance for the police in their duty to serve and protect the people of Papua.

“May the entire police force in Papua continue to work hand in hand with the community to build this region with sincerity and unity,” he said in his spiritual address.

He also expressed hope that the Indonesian National Police (Polri) would grow stronger and more trusted as a national institution, committed to promoting peace, harmony, and social welfare in the region known as the Land of Calling.

The event was attended by Papua Police Chief Inspector General Patrige R. Renwarin and Deputy Chief Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, who also serves as the Head of Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2025.

The gathering highlighted Polri’s dedication to embracing diversity and strengthening interfaith collaboration in Papua. It also underscored the importance of spiritual and social bonds between law enforcement and the public in advancing a peaceful and blessed Papua.
