Timika, Central Papua — As part of its efforts to strengthen ties with local communities and promote humanitarian values, the Public Relations Task Force of the Cartenz Peace Operation 2025 conducted a community outreach visit to Santa Susana Orphanage in SP 2, Timika Jaya District, Mimika Regency, on Thursday afternoon (June 26, 2025).
The event was led by First Inspector I Gde Pradana Sthirabudhi, S.Ds., and supported by six other personnel: Briptu Yoga Yandika, S.H., Bripda Annisa Mahardika, Bripda Alfesa Hafiz Bagaskara, Bripda Irgi Alamsyah, and Bripda M. Adharmansyah R.
During the visit, the officers engaged the children in various interactive and educational activities such as singing, riddles, dancing, and playing guitar. The event also featured storytelling sessions focused on Papua’s culture and history, aimed at enriching the children’s knowledge and instilling pride in their local heritage.
A sense of national pride was evident as the children enthusiastically raised the Indonesian flag while participating in games on the orphanage grounds. The spirit of togetherness and joy was palpable throughout the event.
The task force also distributed care packages consisting of milk, biscuits, and stationery to all the children. Prior to the meal, a collective prayer was led by one of the orphans, fostering a warm and heartfelt atmosphere.
The orphanage’s caretakers expressed their gratitude for the visit and the attention shown by the Cartenz Peace Operation 2025 personnel. They voiced hope that such initiatives would continue, as they help inspire and uplift the children while strengthening bonds between the security forces and the community.
Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation, alongside Deputy Chief Commissioner Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., emphasized that the outreach is part of a human-centered approach to operations in Papua.
“A humanistic approach is key to building peace and mutual trust. Through activities like these, we want to show that our presence here is not only about security—but also about compassion and care,” said Commissioner Adarma.
Echoing the sentiment, Chief of the Public Relations Task Force, Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T., affirmed that the initiative reflects the operation’s commitment to fostering strong communication and social closeness.
“We want to see the children of Papua grow with optimism, spirit, and joy. Our role is to support and motivate them to reach for a brighter future,” concluded Commissioner Yusuf.
