Timika, Papua – In an effort to reinforce strategic partnerships with the press, the Public Relations Unit of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force hosted a media gathering with journalists from various platforms in Mimika Regency, Papua, on Saturday (June 21, 2025).
Held at Easy Coffee in the Mimika Baru District, the event was led by Deputy Head of Public Relations, Commissioner Yusuf Tauziri, S.I.K. The gathering brought together reporters from print, electronic, and online media who have been actively covering security developments in Central Papua.
Commissioner Yusuf, in his opening remarks, extended his appreciation to the media for their contribution in publicizing the task force’s programs and operations. He underscored the importance of this gathering as a platform for two-way communication.
“The media plays a vital role as our partner. We welcome open dialogue, constructive input, and continued collaboration,” he stated.
The discussion addressed challenges faced by journalists in the field, the need for balanced and accurate reporting, and the media’s role in maintaining regional stability.
Separately, Head of Public Relations for the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Senior Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.H., S.I.K., highlighted the significance of continuous cooperation with media institutions.
“The press is a pillar of democracy. Through strong collaboration, we can combat hoaxes and misinformation, and ensure peace in Papua,” he said.
The event proceeded smoothly and peacefully, marking a concrete step toward building transparent and productive relationships between the media and law enforcement for the sake of a peaceful and secure Papua.
