Timika, Papua – In a bid to strengthen collaboration between law enforcement and the media, the Public Relations Unit of the Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force held a friendly gathering with local journalists and national media contributors in Mimika Regency on Saturday (June 21, 2025).
The event took place at Easy Coffee in Mimika Baru District and was led directly by Deputy Head of the Task Force’s Public Relations Division, Commissioner Yusuf Tauziri, S.I.K. From the very beginning, the event exuded a warm and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the harmonious relationship between two essential components in delivering public information.
In his remarks, Commissioner Yusuf expressed his appreciation for the media’s ongoing role in disseminating information about the task force’s activities. He encouraged open communication between journalists and the task force personnel.
“On behalf of the Head of the Public Relations Division of the Cartenz Peace Operation, I’d like to thank all our media partners for their support. This is a valuable opportunity for dialogue and mutual feedback,” said Commissioner Yusuf.
An open discussion followed, covering various challenges in reporting from conflict-prone areas, the importance of information accuracy, and how the media can contribute to maintaining peace in Papua.
Separately, the Head of the Task Force’s Public Relations Division, Senior Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, S.H., S.I.K., emphasized the importance of strong partnerships between the press and law enforcement.
“Gatherings like these should be held regularly as a way to strengthen strategic cooperation. We hope the media will continue to be a trusted partner in delivering accurate information and countering disinformation that could destabilize the region,” he stated.
The event concluded in a peaceful and orderly manner, further highlighting the positive impact of open communication in supporting a secure, peaceful, and prosperous Papua.
