Yahukimo, Papua — A civilian has become a victim of assault with a sharp weapon, allegedly carried out by an armed criminal group (KKB) led by Elkius Kobak. The incident occurred on Tuesday (17/6/2025) around 7:40 PM WIT on Seradala Road Km 2, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency.
The victim is named Ujang Supriyatna (29), a businessman from Banten who currently resides in Yahukimo. He is now receiving intensive treatment at RSUD Dekai due to injuries from the assault with a sharp weapon on several parts of his body.
The incident was initially known when the victim’s neighbor, initials AK (45), who was at home at the time, suddenly heard a scream for help. When he opened his door, he found the victim injured and bleeding, saying, “I was stabbed, please take me to the hospital.” AK then called residents to help transport the victim to the hospital.
Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, Head of the Damai Cartenz Operations, accompanied by Deputy Head Adarma Sinaga, confirmed the incident, stating, “Yes, it is true that there was an assault using a sharp weapon. The victim is currently undergoing intensive treatment at RSUD Dekai. Currently, joint personnel from the Damai Cartenz Operation, Yahukimo Police, Brimob Polda Papua, and the TNI are conducting searches and pursuing the perpetrators,” said Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani.
Public Relations Officer of Operation Damai Cartenz-2025, Colonel Yusuf Sutejo, urged the community to remain calm and entrust the situation to security authorities.
“We urge the public to stay calm but remain vigilant. Security forces assure that the pursuit and law enforcement against the perpetrators will be carried out decisively,” Colonel Yusuf emphasized.
Currently, joint personnel from the Damai Cartenz Operation, Yahukimo Police, Brimob Polda Papua, and the TNI have managed to control the situation and ensure conditions remain safe, with increased vigilance ongoing.
