Yahukimo, Papua – TNI-Polri is mourning again, one of the nation’s best sons of a member of the TNI from Kodim 1715/Yahukimo, Serka Segar Mulyana has been declared dead due to being killed by an unknown person (OTK) allegedly carried out by the KKB Elkius Kobak group, who died while carrying out the task of delivering medicine to his colleague.
The tragic incident happened on Monday morning, (6/16/2025) at Seradala Street KM 4, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency. The victim suffered a number of stab wounds on his body and gunshot wounds in the chest, currently the victim has been evacuated to Jayapura.
Head of Operation Peace Cartenz, Brigadier General of Police Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., accompanied by Deputy Head Operation Peace Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Adarma Sinaga, S.I.K., M.Hum., confirmed the incident and stated that the investigation is still ongoing.
“Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz Team together with TNI officers immediately responded to this incident and are conducting a crime scene investigation and an in-depth investigation to uncover the perpetrator,” said Brigadier General Faizal.
He also expressed his condolences to the victims of the incident.
“We also express our condolences for the death of the Member of Kodim 1715/Yahukimo Serka Segar Mulyana, which the deceased, apart from being a member of Babinsa, is also a health member who has been providing health services to members of the TNI as well as to the community, so that because of this incident, many residents feel that he has lost,” he said.
The joint team of the Task Force Operation Peace Carten together with the TNI officers moved quickly to investigasi and pursue the perpetrators of the Serka Segar Mulyana massacre.
Not only attacking security forces, the same group is also suspected of being involved in the murder of civilians at almost the same time. Around 10.30 WIT, the community reported a brutal attack in Samboga Village. Two victims are civilians, namely:
• Udin, from Sidrap, Makassar, is dying with a number of stab wounds on his body.
• Edi, from Banyuwangi, is in critical condition with two arrows stuck in the head and stab wounds on the cheek and head.
Head of Public Relations Operation Peace Cartenz, Chief Commissioner of Police Yusuf Sutejo, S.I.K., M.T. urges Papuan people to remain calm and not provoked.
“We ask the public to remain calm and fully entrust ourselves to the authorities, we will take firm action against armed criminals who disrupt security stability especially in Papua” he said.
As additional information, Sebby Sambom, who claimed to be the spokesperson for TPNPB OPM, in his statement on social media, admitted that the TPNPB Yahukimo group was behind the attack that caused the death of Serka Segar Mulyana. This strengthens the alleged direct involvement of the KKB led by Elkius Kobak in the bloody attack.
This incident adds to the list of violence carried out by the KKB in the Papua region, especially in Yahukimo, which has been heated again lately. The joint apparatus is still pursuing and deepening the motives for the attack that targets both security forces and civil society.
