One KKB member, identified as Pionus Gwijangge a.k.a. Perampok Gwijangge, was reported dead after being shot in the right chest and falling into a ravine.
Pionus was confirmed to be the nephew of Egianus Kogoya, the leader of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in the Nduga region. “Forensic testing by the Papua Police Forensic Laboratory revealed that one large plastic clip bag contained dry marijuana leaves, seeds, and stems with a net weight of 216.59 grams, identified to belong to the suspect Pionus Gwijangge,” added Brig. Gen. Faizal.
He further stated that the marijuana field is strongly suspected of being used to finance the operations of the KKB, including purchasing weapons and logistics.
